Joma Richter

Biografia

Joma Richter (1994) is a transdisciplinary artist, rooted in performance and visual art practices. She studied dance and choreography at HZT Berlin and in Helsinki at the Theatre Academy (exchange student during BA), as well as Textile Design at the Kunsthochschule Weißensee (Berlin). Furthermore she has completed professional training as a seamstress, engaging in the craft of clothes making. Through her education and personal interests, her artistic practices have been constantly oscillating between fine art, handwork and performance. In 2021 she gave birth to a child, which changed her circumstances completely and affected her art making immensely. Questions of care and the distribution of time as a determinant of social justice are matters occupying and involving her right now. As a dancer and performer she has worked for Ivo Dimchev, Florian Bilbao, Marguerite Donlon and Veli Lehtovaara.
