Biography
Iiris Puustinen is a professional dance artist and performer based between Copenhagen & Helsinki. She has a Bachelor’s degree in dance from the Theater Academy of The University of The Arts Helsinki.
Having a backround in jazz, show and streedance Iiris had a successfull competition career in the Finnish National- and World Championships between 2011-2017.
Despite her young age she gained vast work experience in the Finnish dance field. First focusing on commercial jobs with artists and musicians and later also working in theater productions such as West Side Story (Savoy Theater, 2021) and Don Giovanni (Finnish National Opera, 2020 & 2023).
Iiris later became more interested in her own movement language and creativity which led her to begin BA studies in contemporary dance. After studying in Helsinki (TeaK) and Copenhagen (DDSKS) she received a degree in 2023. Her debut choreography ”3,2,1 (The Walk)” had it’s premiere at Amos Rex museum in May 2023.
Currently freelancing and working as a dancer & performer for others, she also does choreographic work and develops her own artistry.
