Biografia

Sointu Saraste is a Finnish dance artist. Her artistic interests stem from biology, nonhuman lifeforms and their uncanniness. In her BA final work 3 steps forwards, 2 to the right…(2021), she researched robots and her relationship to work. Sointu is interested in finding ways to use her artistic practice as a tool for activism. She also enjoys working in theatre context, and has been an actor and choreographer in Ylioppilasteatteri productions (2022-23). 

As a performer Sointu is a strong movement improviser, but also enjoys learning/performing set material. She likes to work with physical exhaustion. 

She has experience in acting and she likes to work with voice, also in storytelling and presentation settings.
