Biography

Marjukka Savolainen is a Helsinki-based performer and dance artist. After graduating with a BA (Hons) Dance from England (2013), she has been working with several directors, choreographers, companies, and collectives in productions of contemporary dance and performance arts in Finland and abroad.

For Marjukka, dance is a way to dive into the unknown, to encounter the inexplicable. She is especially interested in exploring different states of being, channeling possible worlds and dancing through sensations, intensity and emotions. Marjukka performed in Choreographer Renan Martin’s piece ”The Last Rite of Spring” (2024) for her final work for MA in Dance Performance at the Theatre Academy.
