Lydia Touliatou

Biography

Lydia Touliatou is a Greek dance artist currently researching the contemporaneity of classical Indian dance forms and the nature of their presence on Western stages. After completing her formal training at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London, Lydia took part in cross disciplinary projects as a choreographer, presenting in the UK, Ireland, Sweden and Denmark. Her movement vocabulary emerges from the symbiotic investigation between Bharatanatyam and her Western dance training, which frames her choreographic work on current societal topics. Lydia is currently part of the research team of Dr. Samir Bhowmik for the “Terra-Performing” research project.
