TAIDEYLIOPISTO

Biography

Barabas is a Hungarian-born theatre-maker, artistic researcher, and dramaturg whose work explores fundamental questions of coexistence at the intersection of philosophy and performance. Shaped by Hungary’s independent art scene and a background in philosophy, he brings the radical DIY ethos of Eastern European art-making into institutional contexts—reflecting a sustainable, self-organized approach grounded in adaptability, and making with what’s at hand.

Professional dream

I want to create a performance accessible and engaging to both art professionals and everyday workers (unfamiliar with art discourses) alike — one that awakens an awareness of relationality in all its complexity, revealing the intertwined beauty, joy, and horror it holds.
