Iiris Laisi

Biography

Iiris Laisi is a performer and writer. Before studying at the Theatre Academy, they studied acting at Laajasalo College for a year and worked as an actor and assistant director at the Helsinki Student Theatre. As a performer Iiris is versatile, associative, playful and a spoken word poet. They like to work with text, politics and the body, perhaps subject-oriented, perhaps playful.
They are actively involved in extra-parliamentary policy making with Debt for Climate and Elokapina, among others. Collective action, dismantling oppressive power structures and making art, small and quiet, are their biggest dreams.
